Us In Venice...A Bit Of Fun

Okay, this will be my last post about our adventure to Venice last week.
It's been raining all day, so it's nice to just hang out at home and do this.

I don't usually post a bunch of photos of us, but I decided it might be nice for family and friends.

We had a great time, but it's good to be back at home in The Nut.
I'll be doing more posts from here for the next several weeks...so stay tuned for more adventures!

Some last looks of Venice, 2024-

On a bridge near the apartment where we stay.

A couple of Mirror Shots in a favorite trattoria-

Johnny buying a frame at a favorite framer's shop here in Venice.

One evening, the light after a storm was just beyond the beyond. We took pix!
Again, this is on a bridge near where we stay.

A fun Mirror Shot in a museum we visited.

On the traghetto to cross the Grand Canal

Being amazed by it all!

Another traghetto crossing...

Relaxing at our favorite local cafe/bar.

A few shots from our visit to the Basilica di San Marco-

Bike riding on the Lido!

Afternoon break on a sunny day in Venice.

Thanks for another wonderful adventure, Venice.
Hope to return in the Spring!

Details...Venice

As you all know, Johnny and I love to walk. It's getting a little harder as we get older, but we'll walk until we can't.
In Venice, you get the chance to walk all over the place and there are no cars. It's heavenly. Sure, there are areas that are super crowded, but we plow through to get to the less visited areas.

When we're just walking from here to there, I'm always noticing the details.... I love the day to day things that we pass by over and over and over again...

I take zillions of pictures, deleting most of them. But I just want to remember some things I see along the way.

Maybe you'll enjoy these details, too...

Always enjoy a bit of silliness...

These claws go all the way up the stairwell.

I love these windows!

Sweetness at a front door.

These narrow alleys are so great.

Drawings of a favorite bartender, done by a local.

Another street drawing at a favorite spot...

A classic scene while we wait for the traghetto crossing.

A gorgeous old door...

More street art...

I love this.

I would love this in my garden.

Two shots of an amazing stairwell at Palazzo Cini...looking down, then back up.

More color....

This kitty has been here for years!

A poster on a wall we passed by.

More street art...

Free Women!

This is quite large, and I like it.

Inspiration for a tattoo, perhaps?

Detail on an old door.
This would be great in the garden, too...

A couple of moments along the way...

And last, but not least...some favorite iron work. Door handles, doorbells, etc...

Various doorbells in an apartment building!

I'm just about done with the posts from Venice.

It's a rainy day in Umbria today, Oct 3. Time to go to the laundromat. Oh, joy!
Back to real life!

Reflections, Venice

We're back in Umbria. We took the train this morning, and it's hard not to still have one toe in Venice. I'm sure I'll be doing another post or two before the week is through.

Reflecting in Venice.
Everyone does it. It's impossible not to.
All that water, light and amazingly beautiful buildings...the color combinations alone are enough to make me weep.

Sigh...
