First Morning Walk

Well, we had some pretty decent rain, lots of big wind and a whole lotta cold. At least for us Californians it's cold….
Reports are that the day would be sunny, but cold, with some rain and thunderstorms later, and more rain is on the way over the weekend. We figured it was a good day to get out and get in our first morning walk, and we are glad we did…

It was sunny and cold when we began, and we took the walk with the most sunshine, just to warm us up. It also goes by a nice 'horto' (vegetable garden).

How nice to be enjoying these expansive views again. Hills covered with olive groves, countryside dotted with old farmhouses...

The deciduous trees are still their lovely browns now.
Some flowering shrubs are way too early. Like in my garden back home…yikes.

This walk takes us through both sunny spots and shady spots. The shady areas are so cold…and now wet, and full of mossy loveliness and ferns.
  Fairies, too, no doubt!

The beauty of trees without their green foliage.
Johnny is always looking for wolves.
I just love these colors!

This walk is about an hour and a half, I'd say. On the way back, we started getting a bit worried. The clouds, wind and cold came back so quickly. We could see the rain chasing us down. Not again!
Needless to say, we put it in overdrive!

Where'd that nice sun go?

We also were able to see just what the storm had brought from the night before…Snow. Lots of snow.
It's far away, but still pretty. Explains the cold air, though.

Next day,, we took a drive around the area, and were amazed to see the hills in the distance, beyond the lake.
  WOW!

Sunny again, at least for now.

Closer view. We need to find out the name of this peak.

  We think it's beautiful.
