First Looks, Venice 2015

It's always tough to leave Panicale, and this trip was no different. I am so glad I planned to do Panicale first, and Venice second…It makes it so much easier on our lil' hearts and souls….

Waiting for the train earlier this morning.
Someday we'll learn to pack light….

After about a four and a half hour train ride, we are here. And just as the light was getting nice.
There are some clouds, and even a chance of rain tomorrow, but this evening was really just right.

We hopped a vaporetto (water bus) and made our way down one of the prettiest waterways of the world….

I'm quite happy with this shot….

Beautiful canal side garden.

As much as people seem to dislike Venice, I love it. I can't help but take these classic, nay, cliched shots, either. It's irresistible!

Some pretty fancy digs.

Arriving at the apartment, we found... and immediately opened, a bottle of Proseco to enjoy on our little canal side patio. We were whooped.

So glad to be back here again.

Content Artist…Again.

After this little break in the evening, we headed out before it got dark…didn't even unpack. A little freshen up, and we were out the door, looking for some tasty cicchetti, the small bites that are known here in Venice. Like tapas…only Italian.

Another pretty sight on the way to find cicchetti .

All those people are hanging out at one of our favorite spots...

Typical bites from this great spot..lots of yummy toppings on good breads.

Why, I believe it's that Content Artist again…more content, even!

Next we hopped across the Accademia Bridge to stop into another spot we like, but took a moment to breathe right here.

Next stop found us choosing a couple of arancini, these with eggplant and mozzarella, and eggplant croquettes. So good and comforting after a very long day of stressful travel. Plus, we got totally lost trying to find this place, and what should have taken 15 minutes….well…let's just say a little bickering went on.
The tasty treats helped all that nonsense.

Love to pull up a park bench and just kick back to let the sounds of the piazza wash over you.

All in all, a great first few hours here, with lots more food, wine and especially ART on the agenda!
Stay tuned….
