Morning Walk…Autumn 2015

As is our want while here in Umbria, we walk. We walk early in the morning, and we love the sun and all it's magical light.
Just have to say... it's so f-ing great to be back.

Andiamo!

Morning light across the valley.

  The big difference?
It's warm and muggy as apposed to cold and windy. I guess something in the middle would be perfect, but I won't complain! I'm just so happy to be here!

Good Morning, walk!

Lots of different things are blooming, or in seed state. It's so cool to see this change in season...

So pretty...

Mr. J tripping out on the walk.

Last year, the olive harvest was a bust…this year, so far…so good. I asked Aldo about the fruit, and he said things are ok now, but fingers are crossed for a good harvest. The buggy worms destroyed it all last year...

Beautiful olives!

The only word to describe the morning walk is 'Fecund"…..Warm and sultry…sticky and super fragrant. Lots of wildness all around...

Figs growing wild...

Forest berries..

Then there is the autumn color, which is really coming on right now...

I must admit, I love this shot.

As always, we never know just what we'll come upon on our morning walks. This morning it was a very jolly dude in a very jolly car.

Thumbs Up!

Heading back towards home, the sun came out and man, it got extra warm and super muggy. We have had some rain, and it's windy, too…what is so different is the warm temperatures. We are used to the chill of late winter/ early spring.
I'll take this warm weather, and the mugginess comes and goes with the clouds, it seems. The fragrance of the woods is so pronounced. I really feel like it's a jungle out there!

A favorite spot as we head home.

So many wild flowers blooming, as well.

Some type of campanula, I think.

Wild linaria!

Beautiful rose hips from all the wild spring blooms we saw earlier in the year.

I don't know what the hell this is, but it's very cool!
Some kind of chestnut? Anyone?

All and all, it's so fine to be on our morning walks in this part of the world. Though this visit is a very short one here in Umbria, we want to touch base with as many of our favorite things and people as we can..So far, it's been a blast!
We just have a couple of places we want to eat at, so I'll look forward to posting about these. Our calendar is filling as we speak, so this trip will fly by.
  Upside? Venice is next!!
