The weather in Paris is everything...Sun, rain, wind, sun...clouds. Beautiful, but chilly!
The apartment is beyond beautiful, with a surprise view of our pal, below:
From the apartment windows. |
Up close on our first venture out. |
We walked and walked today, sometimes dodging rain. We made visits to both the Musèe d'Orsay museum, where we enjoyed a light lunch, then across the river to Musèe de l'Orangerie.
Along the way, we enjoyed the views...
Magnolias are blooming all over town! |
Infinity mirrors make me happy. Musèe d'Orsay. |
Musèe d'Orsay view. |
Seeing Johnny in his wheel house made me happy.
View through the 'Big Clock'! |
View of the Sacre Coeur through the Big Clock, Musèe d'Orsay. |
More views from the museum. |
Lunch at the museum was nice...light, and tasty.
We shared our vegetarian dishes. Both were really flavor forward, with good textures and spice. Yummy!
Mixed grains with coconut cream and fresh veg. |
Roasted winter veggies served with puree of butternut squash. |
These next photos are just moments along our walk to Sennalier, a favorite art supply store here in Paris. This place is a 'must do' for Johnny.
I enjoyed the walk through the Tuileries gardens...
Interesting graphics from a staircase. |
Yes, please. For my garden at home. Merci. |
think these trees are groomed to within an inch of their lives. The effect is pretty cool, though. |
We were dodging rain all day, but the sun did show at times, and it was lovely! Note the massive magnolia in the background... |
Next stop, Musèe de l'Orangerie.
More wonderful art I hope to post about in the upcoming weeks...
My take away, I knew there was a big connection between Joan Mitchell and Monet!
Love. |
Next, on to buy a few art supplies...
Johnny buying pastels at one of his favorite art supply stores. |
I got a kick out of the notes left behind at the art store... |
...especially this cat. |
Waiting out a major downpour with a glass of wine. |
It cleared up enough to hike to the nearest metro station. We needed to get home before the next downpour! |
Life on the metro. |
We ended our really long day with crepes at a nearby place I had read about. Very small, very wonderful. We walked our selves silly, so we were good and hungry.
I hope we go back again before we leave.
I think we will.
Mine had creamed spinach, an egg, cheese and grilled onions. Yes, it was that good. |
Johnny went for the 'vegetarian', which was also super good. These are huge, too. I can't believe we finished them.... |
...and split a dessert crepe! But really, who could resist a salted caramel dessert crepe??? Not us! |
More to come from Paris, I'm sure. We hope the weather isn't too nasty, but we'll take whatever.
It's great to be back!
Your photos are glorious!
